The 'plot' so far!! If you can combine work with your special interests, it is easy to find energy and focus to achieve so much more than you ever imagined. It is not so much 'to do what you like' but 'to like what you do'.... a short review of my 'working life' to date. | I am always open to proposals, and as of today, my thoughts and interests lie deeply in the areas of sustainable home building and the social economics of sustainable living. I am in many ways an engineer, an architect and an economist - thinking completely 'out of the box'.
I started out in IT and for much of my professional life worked on a freelance basis, developing state-of-the art products for some of the world's leading technology companies. | | In the early days with my mind very much focused on pure technology, I developed a Virtual State Machine technology for bare-metal embedded product development (VSMT).
As time passed, I needed to spend more time out of doors and in the real world, so I started a holiday company in Italy (xtrallusion),
...life was good but I needed a project that combined engineering with aesthetic design so I bought and undertook the restoration of a 350 year old property in Italy and converted the character property into 14 apartments, set in olive groves just inland from the Italian Riviera (Villa Cirio),
...this evolved into a property sales and restoration business specialising in low cost 'off-grid' holiday home solutions (Rustic Retreats), a business that required me to focus more and more on the application of Smart Technologies - that is the synergy between raw materials, technology and smart thinking.
Out of this I became more and more interested in sustainable living and soon realised that sustainable living is very much dependent on affordable homes and a low cost economy. Affordable homes are very much the basis on which a low cost economy can be built and affordable homes require the application of raw materials using Smart Technology. With this in mind, I developed a new methodology for the construction of affordable self-build homes that are low cost, low energy, carbon neutral and low maintenance - a truly sustainable home (Ecologically Smart Properties).
In my spare time, when not playing sport, when not socialising with friends, I like to focus on another great passion - the social economics of peace and prosperity. From my research into sustainable living, my studies led me into social economics for a sustainable economy. This evolved and I came up with a completely new approach to micro and macro economics that offers a practical solution to pretty much all of the social economic related problems we face today, and especially to the eurozone crisis. This is a social economic system that can put an end to poverty and homelessness, an economic system that works for the people and not for the ruling elite - and as a massive bonus just so happens to be the biggest means by which we can reduce pollution and easily achieve carbon neutral societies, an end to 'man made global warming' (af€).
How did I manage all this, well, it's amazing how much you can do when not 'glued to the box' ;) | | | | Update this text. | |
